Patient - Breast Lift

Before
This lady had a very complex history with placement of silicone gel implants years earlier for reconstruction. Over the years, her breasts became very hard and painful and she underwent several attempts to soften them by tightly squeezing the breasts until the scar tissue ruptures, something that is no longer done because of the risk of rupturing the implants. In fact, her left implant did rupture as indicated by a mammogram and ultrasound. She went along this way for years before coming to see me.Â
After
I removed both implants and performed a bilateral breast lift. The left side was a mess with silicone all through the tissues and even in the muscle of her chest. Removing it all was not possible. I did not feel that she needed implants and, after the surgery, she agreed. She went on to do well with breasts that were now naturally soft and non-tender.Â
