To our patients:

We have had the privilege of providing plastic surgical care to the residents of Lake County (and beyond) for 35 years. Dr. Bosshardt started as the first plastic surgeon in Lake County in 1989. Dr. Marzek joined the practice in 1993. This note is to inform our patients that we will both be retiring effective September 30, 2024. This was not an easy or quick decision. We love what we do but feel the time has come to hang up our scalpels. We look at retirement as a new chapter of life, and one that we are looking forward to enjoying while still in good health.

As of this time, we do not have anyone taking over the practice. We have tried for over two years to find replacements, but most plastic surgeons today (and doctors in general) are going into corporate medicine, and they are not looking for a private practice opportunity. Florida statutes require us to maintain medical charts for 7 years after retirement. If you need a copy of your chart, we will provide one. After September 30, you can reach us by calling 352-742-0079.

Our patients have been, and always will be, the greatest blessing of being a doctor. We have enjoyed meeting each and every one of you. We tried to always provide the absolute best plastic surgical care that we could. We thank you for entrusting your plastic surgical care to us.

This letter would not be complete without acknowledging our staff. We have been blessed to have the best staff any doctor could wish for. They have made coming to work every day a pleasure, and we love them all.

As we sail off into the sunset, we hope that our paths may cross again. We will carry with us fond memories of these many years of practice. We hope and pray that we have touched your lives in a positive way.
