Patient - Abdominoplasty

Before

This young woman was unhappy with the loose skin of her abdomen and bulging of her abdomen due to poor muscle tone from her pregnancies. She had undergone weight loss surgery and dropped nearly 100 lbs, but felt she had gone as far as she could go. She sought a tighter, flatter abdomen and I suggested a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty).

After

She is shown 6 months after the surgery, where I tightened her muscles, repaired a small hernia, and removed as much skin and fat as possible. Her contour is dramatically better. Her darker skin type makes her prone to darkening of her scars, but these should fade gradually over the next year or so. The small vertical scar above the horizontal scar is where I repaired the hole from releasing her belly button from the skin and shows how far down I was able to pull the excess skin.
