Patient - Abdominoplasty

Before

This lady was unhappy with her bulging tummy, which she not flatten with exercise. She had undergone prior abdominal surgeries and had a vertical scar under the belly button and a horizontal scar above the pubic hairline. She had loose skin with stretch marks, a sure sign the skin has been over-stretched in the past, e.g. by pregnancy, poor muscle tone, and a prominent bulge in the lower abdomen. Because she already had scars, she was a perfect candidate for an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).

After

She is shown 2 years after a full tummy tuck, including tightening of the muscles to better flatten the tummy. Her scars have settled very nicely and are extremely faint. She is much happier with her flatter tummy. This could never have been accomplished by non-surgical means or by liposuction, which does no muscle tightening and little, if any, skin tightening in someone with stretch marks.
