Patient - Breast Augmentation

This young lady presented with a very challenging situation. Her breasts were clearly disporoportionately small and positioned unusually far apart. Her bra size is a 34B (padded bra). Obtaining a nice aesthetic result in this situation is a challenge because the young tight skin can make placing a suitably sized implant difficult. Also, creating nice cleavage when the space is so wide between the breasts can be difficult to do and poses a risk of creating synmastia, also called "bread-loafing" or a "unibreast" if the skin over the breast bone separates, allowing one or both implants to cross the midline. She had two children and had no plans for more.
I performed her breast augmentation using Mentor smooth, round saline implants placed in a "dual plane" pocket (half under the muscle and half under the breast tissue alone). The implants are 425 cc and were filled to 450 cc. Six months out from the surgery her breasts look exceptional and feel very soft and natural. Most surprising is how well she has accepted these implants and how nicely positioned they are, with wonderful cleavage. She has retained all the sensitivity in her breasts and even volunteered that they are pleasantly more sensitive. Her bra cup size is now a 34 D. I would call this a truly exceptional result. Why did she do this well? I can't say. I approach every patient's surgery with the same attention to detail and meticulous surgery. My results are overwhelming good, but not every patient gets a perfect result. Some, like this one, are exceptional. I wish all my patients did this well!
