Patient - Breast Reconstruction

Before

This lady had bilateral mastectomies for treatment of cancer of left breast. Because of her strong family history, she opted to have both breasts removed. After completing chemotherapy, she came to me for breast reconstruction. She was felt to be a good candidate for placement of tissue expanders and gel implants later. The first stage was placing the tissue expanders. A few months later, these were exchanged for permanent silicone gel implants, and, finally, the final stage was to reconstruct the nipple and tattoo some color in for the areola.

After

Her reconstruction went smoothly and she is shown after her last stage of nipple/areola reconstruction using a small nipple flap and tattooing for the color. Her implants are Allergan Natrelle Style 45, round, smooth, cohesive gel implants with a volume of 800 cc. I didn’t think to ask her cup size but it is safe to say she is at least a D or DD.
