Before

Breast cancer does occur in men as well as women, albeit rarely. Approximately 1% of breast cancers are in men. This gentleman was treated for cancer of the left breast with a mastectomy. He did not like the absence of the nipple/areola on the left side. I offered reconstruction using a flap from the chest skin to build the "nipple" followed by tattooing to try to match the color of the opposite areola.

Here he is 6 months after his reconstruction was completed. A perfect match is rarely achieved, but the improvement is significant nonetheless. Both of us were pleased.
