Before
Not all patients seeking a breast reduction have massive breasts. This lady felt that her breasts were "huge" and was not comfortable with them. She would wear clothes to minimize the size of her breasts. Her bra size was a 36 D cup. insurance would not pay for her reduction unless I removed 500 grams (just over 1 lb) per breast, which I felt would make her much too small. I performed her surgery in our office surgery center.
After
She is shown 1 year after her surgery, which was done with a traditional inverted-T incision. I removed 304 grams from the left and 251 grams from the right. Her postoperative bra size was a C cup. It has been 19 years since her surgery. She has normal feeling in her nipples and remains delighted with the result of the surgery.
